Wine Review: This slight cloudy and opaque medium ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Gevrey-Chambertin village in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits district opens with a red plum and cinnamon bouquet with hints of sandalwood, teaberry, and red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is a loam and gentle spiced black plum with notes of crushed stone and cranberry. We also detected hints of red raspberry tea, mild oak, and black pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors and polished, yet dusty tannins drift away nicely. This Pinot was a bit tight on day one but did open up nicely on day two. We would pair it with Italian braciole or coq au vin. Enjoy – Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: Tasting Note: Intense, perfumed bouquet with fruit aromas and an animal touch. Nice structure and lovely fleshiness. Good ageing potential.
Food/Wine Pairing: Grilled and roasted red meat, full-flavored cheeses.
