Wine Review: The 2010 vintage from Chateauneuf de Pape was terrific. Those wines that contained a high % of Grenache tended to be my favorite. This offering from Bouquet des Papes is 98% Grenache and it is Excellent! It is opaque and dark ruby colored. It opens with a plum and red currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, ultra smooth and very well bodied. The flavor profile is a delicious plum and blueberry blend with beautifully integrated oak. I also detected some black pepper and spice throughout. The finish is dry and its rather dusty tannins are sticky and show great length. If you really want to impress someone, take them out to dinner and serve them this wine with a cowboy ribeye. Wow! - Ken
