Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Tempranillo is very good, but still a youngster. It opens with an inviting blackberry bouquet with a hint of boysenberry and crushed stone. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, round and very juicy. The flavor profile is a very tasty chalky mineral influenced plum and blackberry blend with notes of oak. I also detected hints of black tea. The finish is rather dry and its astringent tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. This wine does get tamed a bit with some decanting. I would pair it with a fork-tender pot roast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Clear, bright cherry-red. This is a fresh, fruity and suggestively complex version of a wine produced from old Tempranillo vines, selected in small plots. The aromatic nose is fresh and rich, with red fruits, ripe plums, & Mediterranean brushwood. Structured and juicy, with a persistent aftertaste. Pairs well with lamb, sausages and game stews.
