Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Syrah from Bledsoe Family opens with a smoke and black licorice bouquet with hints of cured meat, boysenberry, tobacco leaf, and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, polished, and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty mulberry and cedar blend with notes of salami and crasin. We also detected some hints of cherry-cola and crushed stone. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and moderate tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Syrah with lamb lollipops, or a filet mignon wrapped in bacon. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our new Stolen Horse is a stunner. Inky dark color. Aromatics in so many directions - black pepper, hoisin sauce, smoked meat, crushed cranberry, and lavender. Mostly coming from our estate, LeFore Vineyard, 2021 was a warm and dry vintage in Walla Walla. The mouthfeel of this wine is fantastic. Great tannin that is ripe and rich, velvety even with a long finish. Perhaps my new favorite vintage of this wine yet! Drink now through 2038.
