Wine Review: This dark ruby colored wine opens with a mild blackberry and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and very smooth. The flavor profile is a mild dusty blackberry and plum with hints of blueberry, oak, and black pepper on the back palate. The finish is very dry and its sticky tannins are rather lengthy and long. This wine would pair very nicely with many foods. I would try it with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2007 Contrarian is saturated with fragrant blackberry, black cherry, and earthy forest floor complemented by cedar and blueberry notes from the Cabernet Franc influence. The powerfully structured palate unfolds with layers of dark berries, cola, cocoa, and black truffle, showcasing fine and silky tannins on the mid-palate. The smooth finish is balanced, providing persistent length of flavor.
