Wine Review: This golden colored Chardonnay from Black Kite opens with a pineapple and toasty oak bouquet with hints of guava, lemon, and matchstick. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, creamy, rich, and fresh. The flavor profile is baked pear, pineapple, and mild oak blend with notes of ripe cantaloupe and vanilla. We also detected some hints of toffee and orange. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are very long. The Tasting Panel would drink this stunning Chard on its own. With food we would pair this Chard with lobster bisque. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: This is the fourth Chardonnay vintage from our newest estate vineyard, the Jasper Freestone Vineyard. It is located in the far western part of Sonoma, just seven miles from Bodega Bay and the Pacific Ocean. A true cool-climate reflection of its roots, our 2021 Jasper Freestone Vineyard Chardonnay is a strikingly redolent wine boasting a vivid core of honeydew, wet stone, and white peach, mingled with notes of crushed stone and underripe pineapple framed by a mouthwatering acidity that persists on the long, lifted finish. Enjoy upon release or hold for up to 7-9 years.
