Wine Review: This white gold colored Chardonnay from Black Kite opens with a fragrant oak and pear bouquet with hints of grilled pineapple, cantaloupe, and tomato leaf. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, plush, creamy, rich, and concentrated. The flavor profile is tasty ripe white peach and oak blend with notes of lime and coconut. We also detected some hints of pineapple, lemon verbena, spice and stony minerality. The finish is dry, and its flavors are very extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this Chard with triple cream brie with warm and crunchy French bread or with a hot crab dip. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: This is the second release of our Angel Hawk Chardonnay, offering the pinnacle of Chardonnay from our very best fruit, following on the path of our beloved Angel Hawk Pinot Noir. The fruit is from vineyards near the Sonoma Coast of California, with ideal climate and soils for growing Chardonnay. In the glass, the wine has a gorgeous golden hay hue, exploding with aromas of honeydew, white strawberries, unripe pineapple and honeysuckle flowers. As the wine breathes, the terroir of the vineyards generates beautiful stone fruit and strong minerality, followed by balanced and mouthwatering acidity that persists with great length on the palate. Enjoy upon release or cellar for up to 8-10 years.
