Wine Review: This deep garnet colored Pinot Noir from Black Kite opens with a black raspberry, cherry, and oak bouquet with hints of red plum and dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is super smooth and well-balanced. The flavor profile is juicy black plum and stony minerality blend with hints of maraschino cherry, baking spice, and oak. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins stick around for quite a while. This Pinot is very food friendly and versatile. The Panel would pair this easy drinking Pinot with sautéed chicken with a cherry-wine pan sauce or a veal chop. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2019 Kite's Rest Vineyard Pinot Noir is the kind of wine you grab a thesaurus to describe, because calling it pretty just isn't enough. A blend of the vineyard's three distinct blocks, it opens with a heady perfume of violet and rose potpourri that gives way to more pronounced notes of Bing cherry, plum and sweet vanilla oak with just a hint of clove and cedar. The bright, lifted palate is at once elegant and weighty, with focused acids and polished tannins providing a compelling tension throughout the long, nuanced finish. Enjoy upon release or cellar for up to 5-9 years.
