Wine Review: This pale ruby colored Pinot Noir from Black Kite opens with a black cherry and gentle strawberry bouquet with hints of cherry-cola and milk chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with nicely integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is soft, silky, and very well-balanced. The flavor profile is tasty stewed red plum and mild crushed stone blend with notes of red licorice and cherry. We also detected hints of dried herbs, cinnamon. and some black raspberry appearing towards the finish. The finish is dry with gentle tannins and flavors that show very nice length. The Tasting Panel would pair this layered and refined Pinot with fresh sliced Norwegian salmon. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Our second ever Angel Hawk bottling from our Sonoma Coast vineyards could not be denied. There was no question that the barrels comprising our 2019 Sonoma Coast Angel Hawk should stand on their own as a reserve bottling. The wine’s nose hints at the depth to come with redolent notes of black fruit, currant, chocolate, allspice, and toasted vanilla. Velvety rich and complex, the mid-palate offers even more dark fruit, framed by fine-grained tannins that carry through the notably long and concentered finish. Decant first 18 months following release, or lay down for 10-15+ years.
