Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Black Kite is a fruit bomb. It opens with a red plum and red raspberry bouquet with a hint of strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and quite fruit forward. The flavor profile is a stewed plum and oak blend with integrated stony minerality. I also picked up notes of mulberry and a hint of black truffle. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild fine tannins drift away nicely. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair nicely with grilled London broil. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2017 Soberanes Vineyard Pinot Noir is a deeply expressive wine that opens with beguiling bottle brush and sweet tea aromas that give way to a complex core of black fruit, cassis and clove. The rich, round mouthfeel is met with just enough tannic traction to sustain the compelling fruit intensity throughout the long finish. Enjoy upon release or cellar for up to 4-6 years.
