Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Black Kite is very good. It opens with a very fragrant pomegranate and craisin bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and super smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty red currant and spiced plum blend with hints of pomegranate and craisin. I also picked up a hint of cinnamon. The finish is dry and its flavors and very fine tannins drift away nicely. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair well with a grilled veal chop. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dynamic and multi-layered, our 2017 Kite’s Rest Vineyard Pinot Noir is a harmonious blend of the three distinct blocks that comprise our Anderson Valley estate vineyard. Lively violet, Rose potpourri, plum, vanilla and spice highlight the aromatic profile, while the edgy core of cranberry and raspberry gains dark berry richness on the long, gracefully structured finish. Enjoy upon release or cellar for up to 4-7 years.
