Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Black Kite opens with a fragrant black raspberry bouquet with hints of black cherry and licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a tasty black raspberry and oak blend with notes of minerality, black pepper and a hint of black cherry towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors and very fine tannins drift away nicely. This crowd-pleasing Pinot will be very popular at restaurants for its versatility. I would pair it with cherry amaretto chicken with mashed potatoes. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Comprised of select lots from the three distinct blocks of our estate vineyard. The 2016 Kite's Rest is a beautifully elegant and seductive wine. The nose reveals a bouquet of roses, lavender and violets enlivened with notes of brown spice and sweet tea, while the palate is an homage to varietal purity, displaying high-toned Pinot fruit, bright acidity and a long, graceful finish. Enjoy upon release or cellar for 3-7 years.
