Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored red blend from Biserno in Tuscany opens with a red cherry, cedar, and milk chocolate bouquet with hints of grilled meat. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, silky smooth, and suave. The flavor profile is red cherry and stony minerality blend with notes of cedar and red plum. I also detected hints of tobacco, red licorice, and a touch of mild strawberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and refined dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. I paired this delicious Italian red blend with Grandma’s lasagna. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The wine is a bright, deep ruby red color. The broad aromatic range of the bouquet highlights notes of dark fruit that combine with spices, evoking the typical scents of the Mediterranean maquis. The pleasant, slightly toasted aroma conveyed by ageing in barriques is evident in the background. The palate is full, enveloping, and fresh, with a lively structure and a pleasantly balanced tannic structure. Outstandingly persistent with great potential for evolution. Pair with roast meats, particularly beef, whether it be filet de sirloin or a Tuscan T-Bone.
