Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chardonnay from Beringer opens with a tropical papaya and toasted coconut bouquet with hints of pineapple. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and has a nice round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a tasty mild Juicy Fruit gum and pineapple blend. I also detected hints of vanilla, lemon zest and all spice. The finish is dry and it drifts away nicely. I would pair this delicate Chard with trout almondine. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Luminus, meaning "light" in Latin, naturally represents the radiance of this exceptional Chardonnay. Like the brightness and purity the name conjures, Chardonnay from the Oak Knoll district is distinct for its uncommon focus. Big Ranch Vineyard offers fruit known for its elegance and balance. Winemaker Mark Beringer has always gravitated towards this acid driven, crisp and pleasing, food-friendly style of Chardonnay.
