Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Beringer is impressive. It opens with black raspberry and boysenberry bouquet with hints of vanilla oak, red currant, and black tea. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced, dense, smooth and savory. The flavor profile is red plum, red cherry and black tea blend with notes of oak and a hint of graphite. The finish is dry and its sticky dry tannins linger and last for a very long time. The Panel suggested decanting this wine and then serving it with a cowboy ribeye, grilled portabella mushrooms or with Stuart’s steak treats. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: A deeply colored and rich wine with substantial backbone and structure will make this 2017 vintage continue to reward after years of careful cellaring. With bright notes of black currant and blackberries and a lush, juicy mouthfeel, this wine is also very approachable in its youth. Complex layers of black fruit and notes of cocoa powder, graphite and light smoky oak mingle well with notes of espresso and vanilla. The ripe tannins support a full structure with balanced acidity leaving a lingering, elegant finish.
