Wine Review: This very dark red colored Pinot Noir from Benovia is easy going and friendly. It opens with a faint plum and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a mild plum with notes of gentle minerality and hints of cola and cherry. The finish is dry and slightly prolonged. This is a nice Pinot to have with mild dishes. I would have it with grilled red snapper or Old Bay seasoned barbecue shrimp. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas are clearly dominated by bright red fruit tones of Bing cherry and red raspberry, while black fruits dominate on the palette. The bright aromas expand and give way to black plum and toasted baking spices. On the palate, the wine has bright acidity and firm but fine tannins that should allow for short term cellaring. As always, the wine was bottled without refining or filtration.
