Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cab was considered the steal of this mini-tasting. It is priced almost at a 1/3rd the price of the winning wine and finished only 2 points behind. Several panelists would much rather have 3 bottles of this Cab over the winner. It opened with a fragrant menthol and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and very smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty menthol, blackberry, and red cherry blend with a touch of oak mixed in. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are lengthy. The panel unanimously suggested serving this gem with a ribeye steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This mountain Cabernet shows layers of berry fruit and red currants with a dusting of dried cocoa. The palate is rich with notes of ripe red fruit with a dollop of sweet vanilla oak. The tannins are coated but show their mountain roots which give the wine structure and longevity. This is a polished, layered and youthful Cabernet which promises even greater rewards with additional aging.
