Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel based blend from Bedrock is impressive. It opens with an inviting plum and mulberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, yet smooth and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a delicious mulberry and red plum blend with notes of minerality, currant and gentle oak. I also detected some nice hints of black pepper and anise that lingers towards the very end. The finish is dry and its flavors and medium tannins linger for quite a while. This wine would pair perfectly with Theresa's meatloaf. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: I still cannot believe that we somehow own this unbelievable unicorn of a vineyard. This wine features racy and vibrant fruit that is pleasantly funkified but the presence of the savory Mataro. This wine probably resembles a wine from the Southern Rhone as much as a "Zinfandel" from California. As always, the incredibly suave tannins from the sandy soils at the ranch make for a high-tone and elegant red wine.
