Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Beaulieu Vineyard is very good. It opens with a very fragrant red currant and oak bouquet with hints of craisin, mocha and pencil lead. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and fresh for a Cab based wine. The flavor profile is a black plum and stone dust blend with notes of black cherry and cassis. I also detected hints of licorice and vanilla. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. This versatile and food friendly red blend would pair well with tender and fall apart pot roast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: 2021 produced some of the best fruit in recent years. The wine has fantastic character with aromatic intensity and tremendous balance and structure that are equally lush and fruity. A tremendous year to experience the nuances and terroir distinction from around the valley.
