Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Beaulieu Vineyard opens with a black currant, black cherry, and mild cigar box bouquet with hints of black plum, vanilla, and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, silky smooth and a bit dense. The flavor profile is blackberry and cedar blend with notes of black tea and stewed black plum. We also detected hints of toasty oak, clove, and cassis. The finish is dry and its well-managed polished tannins linger and last for a quite a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this Red Blend with stout beer braised short ribs or with a porterhouse steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2020 Madame de Latour Red Blend makes a striking first impression with its dark amethyst hue. The nose is powerful and layered, showcasing the influence of cooler-climate sourcing with the Coombsville fruit imparting notes of dark cherry and cassis alongside a present minerality and grippy tannins. There is a lifted floral note with fresh character, beautiful persistence intertwined with rounded plushness, and a seamless integration of barrel nuances. The wine exudes a sense of depth, finishing with mouthwatering acidity and savory dark plum flavors, delivering a velvety smooth texture that envelops the senses. This wine possesses remarkable aging potential. Cellar it for up to 25 years, until 2048.
