Wine Review: This dark red colored wine from Banfi opens with an inviting Spanish cedar and red currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a cedar influenced tart cherry with notes of red plum. I also detected some refined minerality and earthiness towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins fade away nicely. I would pair this wine with Italian braciole. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep ruby red with violet reflections. Bouquet features red berries, blueberries and plum jam and are followed by hints of tobacco and licorice. The wine is well rounded, with velvety tannins and a persistent finish. This is a superb accompaniment to red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
