Wine Review: This pale straw colored Chenin Blanc from Napa opens with a mild pear bouquet with a hint of green grapes. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild mineral infused Anjou pear with hints of green apple and green grapes. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This very enjoyable Chenin Blanc is very food friendly and would pair well with Coquille St. Jacques. Hurry up and order some, there is not much of this gem. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2013 Chenin Blanc has some of the most vibrant aromatics we have seen in this wine. It has aromas of peaches, pears, citrus blossoms, sage, honeysuckle, apple, lime, and lemon. We make this wine crisp, clean, fruit forward, and it is a great palate cleanser. The structure is full and silky with a crisp finish. The wine has a zesty citrus character on the palate with notes of peach, melon, floral blossoms, and spice. This Chenin Blanc has a very fruity nature to it, but is absolutely made in a dry style which allows the finish to linger with clean citrus and floral flavors.
