Wine Review: This pale straw colored Chardonnay from Walker Bay in South Africa opens with a fragrant and attractive golden delicious apple bouquet with a hint of ginger. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is a tasty granny smith apple and light lemon verbena blend with hints of minerality. I also detected a hint of ginger. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Chard is very food friendly and would pair well with a seafood casserole. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The wine is driven by a citrusy core of lime and tangerine, with loads of fresh acidity and a bright mineral backbone. Luscious pear flavors and floral top notes round it out, with delicate almond and spice notes coming through on the finish.
