Wine Review: This pale white gold colored Pinot Gris based blend from Au Bon Climat opens with a shy bouquet of tangerine and crushed shells with hints of lemon-lime and melon. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, textured and a bit voluptuous. The flavor profile is a very tasty white peach, saline and almond blend with notes of white pepper, lime and chalky minerality. We also detected some hints of Asian pear and green apple. The finish is dry and refreshing with very good length. The Tasting Panel would pair this versatile and very good value white blend with broiled scallops or a grilled chicken Caesar salad. Winemaker Notes: The Au Bon Climat 2021 Pinot Gris/Pinot Blanc is a versatile wine. The Pinot Gris provides firm acidity, while the Pinot Blanc gives a hint of green apple and broadens the palate. It has enough body and intensity to pair with a wide range of cuisines. In the mouth the wine is rich and textural.
