Wine Review: This white gold colored Chardonnay from Au Bon Climat is for oak fans! It opens with a pleasant new oak and Bartlett pear bouquet with hints of pineapple and quince. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, slightly viscous and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is an oak influenced green apple and stone dust blend with notes of quince and vanilla. I also detected hints of light buttered popcorn and macadamia nuts. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are nicely sustained. This Chardonnay would pair well with your favorite toasted and buttered lobster roll. Enjoy - Ken
