Wine Review: This light red colored Pinot Noir from Au Bon Climat opens with a red raspberry and light oak bouquet with hints of pine pitch, vanilla, and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, bright and savory. The flavor profile is wild strawberry and rhubarb blend with notes of cinnamon, red plum, and stone dust. We also detected some hints of cedar, teaberry, and red cherry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and light tannins show nice length. The Tasting Panel would pair this complex Pinot with duck confit. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Isabelle represents the finest Pinot Noir lots of the vintage. It is quite complex showing candied raspberry, cherry, blood orange fruit with notes of anise, wet stone and bay leaf joined by hints of baking spice and pastry crust on the palate. Medium-full bodied with a tight structure, this wine will evolve and increase in complexity for years to come. In its youth, enjoy with crispy roast duck, lamb chops or pork roast. As it ages, match with Porcini mushroom risotto and wild game.
