Wine Review: This brick red colored Pinot Noir from Au Bon Climat opens with a black cherry and craisin bouquet with hints of dried strawberry and cigar box. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and fresh. The flavor profile is black plum and black pepper blend with notes of black cherry and oak. I also detected hints of black tea, teaberry gum, and loam. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Pinot with a juicy pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: An exquisitely elegant, perfumed wine. Dried hibiscus and alpine strawberry take the lead followed by dark cherry, dried cranberry, and earthy sage tones. High acid fruit and great structure from oak tannins assist in creating wonderfully balanced wine. Drinking beautifully now and will continue to handsomely evolve for at least a decade. The wine's firm structure and expressive spice makes it a good pairing for barbecued pork ribs, smoked turkey, wild game, or spicy Asian dishes.
