Wine Review: The dark red colored Pinot Noir from Oregon is terrific. It opens with a very attractive cedar, red cherry and blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, pleasantly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty cola and black cherry blend with notes blueberry, strawberry and cedar. I also detected hints of loam and raspberry tea at the very end. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins linger for quite some time. This Pinot would pair well with pan-seared veal medallions with French morels. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: After 2 decades we have returned to Oregon. This young Pinot is complete, supple, delicious now, but will age for years to come. It is loaded with aromas of ripe berries, both blackberries and strawberries. The underlying power and complexity are “under the surface” currently, but will be apparent soon. The 25% of stem inclusion gives the wine a nice spice note, not seen in Oregon Pinots.
