Wine Review: The deep yellow colored Chardonnay from Au Bon Climat opens with a pineapple, lemon and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with plus acidity. The flavor profile is a Brach's butterscotch candy and caramel apple blend with notes of pineapple and oak. I also detected hints of vanilla custard, cinnamon and allspice. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. For most, this very flavorful Chard is probably best on its own. It would also pair well with a sherry laced lobster bisque with thyme. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Very fruit forward and unctuous, this Chardonnay is rich and complex with a tropical coconut, pineapple character. It shows abundant fruit, oak, and viscosity along with a nice mineral component. Beautiful. Enjoyable now or be rewarded with further aging.
