Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chardonnay from Au Bon Climat is very nice. It opens with oak and green apple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is an oak influenced green apple with notes vanilla and a hint of hazelnut. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This is a very versatile Chardonnay that would pair with many foods. I would pair it with a chicken and wild mushroom ravioli with a light cream sauce. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The aroma reveals this is obviously Chardonnay made in an Old-World style. Sweet barrel spice mixes nicely with a lemon limey note from the fruit. It is rich on the palate, and the classic Chardonnay flavors of apple, citrus and vanilla go on and on. This lively wine will go with wide assortment of foods. Seared scallops in butter with a touch of orange or a roast chicken with rosemary.
