Wine Review: This dark ruby red colored Zinfandel opens with and inviting earthy, musty and smoky bouquet that includes red raspberries, cedar and hints of black pepper and plum. The full-bodied palate was smooth, slightly dry, fruity and sweet. The flavor profile is black cherries, oak and black licorice with traces of plums, herbs and chocolate. The tannins and acidity are pleasantly balanced. Its extended finish was satisfying and faded away gently. I would pair this good value Zin with turkey chili. - Joe
Winemaker Notes: Ruby red in color this wine has indigo blue and violet hues. There is a concentration of delicious, bright pomegranate and boysenberry aromas followed by mouthwatering blackberry pie crust. Flavors are led by bright raspberry and red cherry cola, all of which are framed by a subtle pepper note. The cheerful fruit is complemented by baking spice, most notably clove and cinnamon, with soft, mouth-watering tannins delivering a round, balanced finish.
