Wine Review: This unfined Chardonnay is a slightly cloudy and pale yellow colored. It opens with a mild lemon and apricot bouquet with a hint of vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and shows a little viscosity. Overall I enjoyed its mouthfeel because it was nicely balanced between its mild acidity and fruit. The flavor profile is a tasty mild vanilla oak and gentle minerality infused ripe Bosc pear. The finish is dry and pleasant. I would pair this Very Good Chard with butternut squash ravioli smothered in a brown sage sauce. Enjoy- Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Reserve Speciale is a rich, plush wine with a bouquet of bright citrus, and hints of vanilla and honey. The palate is opulent and full bodied with layers of crisp tropical fruit, peach, and apple. Notes of hazelnut and a hint of complex oak flavors in the background are followed by a long, rich finish with nuances of spice and vanilla.
