Wine Review: This light ruby colored Brunello di Montalcino opens with an inviting wild cherry bouquet with a Clark’s teaberry gum and mahogany wood. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel soft and round. The flavor profile is a very tasty cherry and juicy red plum blend with notes of integrated minerality and cedar plank. I also detected hints of strawberry licorice and white tea. The finish is dry and its very refined tannins drift away nicely. This Brunello is a very food friendly and would pair perfectly with sweet Italian sausage ragu over mezzi rigatoni. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The nose is broad and complex, yet clean and fresh, with classic hints of red fruit mixed with notes of aromatic herbs and spices. In the mouth, the wine is broad, robust, and savory, with silky tannins and a long, fresh finish.
