Wine Review: Very dark garnet colored Malbec opens with a fragrant boysenberry bouquet with hints of black cherry and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, savory and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a stony minerality and black plum blend with notes of oak and boysenberry. I also detected hints of oolong tea, black cherry, black licorice, and a good dash of black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate dusty tannins stick around for quite a long time. This very good Malbec paired perfectly with my grilled marinated barbecue steak tips.
