Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chardonnay from Archery Summit is very good and shows some nice finesse. It opens with a musty pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and elegant. The flavor profile is a gentle green apple with notes of mild minerality and faint new oak. I also detected a hint of pineapple in the background. The finish is dry and softly fades away. This Oregon Chard would pair well with a dish like rainbow trout with brown butter and almonds. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2017 growing season’s cool, elongated final stretch was music to Chardonnay's ears. The resulting wine is richly textured, with subtle oaky and creamy notes atop pure and persistent underlying fruit flavors. Jasmine, flint, pistachio, and curry leaf aromatics dissolve into bright citrus flavors followed by stone fruit, kaffir lime, and lemon curd. A pronounced acidity runs the entire length of this enduring Chardonnay.
