Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Italian blend is very good. It opens with a black pepper, black cherry and new leather bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a black olive and black cherry blend with notes of cedar, black pepper and blackberry with a hint of sage The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins drift away nicely. This Italian treat would pair nicely with veal parmigiana. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The nose is brooding, dominated by spice and black licorice. Fruit tones are ripe black cherries with high sweet floral notes. The palate is explosive with flavors of plums, currants and a slight tangy note of orange peel. Due to the long ripening season, in which Merlot thrives, the tannins are long, soft and well developed. The palate finishes with hints of tobacco and lingering nutmeg.
