Wine Review: This white cold colored Chenin Blanc opens with a jasmine, lemon verbena, and pineapple bouquet with hints of quince and flint stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. It is round and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is ginger and mineral blend with notes of juicy lemon and chamomile tea. I also detected hints of green pear and toasted almond as well. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. This Chenin would pair well with chicken francaise with a rich lemon butter sauce and parmigiano spaghettini. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: What began as a small-batch wine crafted for the perfect pairing with fresh seafood at one of winemaker Jesse Katz's favorite hometown restaurants has turned into a classic favorite. Coming from the rich clay loam soils of an old vine California Chenin Blanc site, planted in the 1940's, this vibrant wine showcases notes of passion fruit, nectarines, and honeysuckle with brightly lifted acidity giving way to a round, and smooth mouthfeel.
