Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple wine opens with a leather, old oak and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, has pleasant acidity and displays a round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a smoky oak influenced black cherry and anise blend. The finish is dry and its moderately sticky tannins fade away nicely. This Italian wine is old school and would be perfect with braised veal shoulder with gremolata and tomato-olive sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Intense ruby red in color. The wine opens with intense aromas of ripe cherries, spice, chocolate and hints of mint. The wine is full-bodied with a palate of rich fruit and spice. The tannins are round and velvety and lead to a lingering finish.
