Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored wine opens with a pleasant black licorice and blackberry bouquet with hints of blueberry, cassis. slate, and dried flowers. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and slightly acidic. I also found it to be balanced, round and a little lush. The flavor profile is nicely layered. It features blackberry and cocoa with notes of blueberry, strawberry, and star anise. I also detected hints of coffee, oak, minerality and cherry-cola towards the end. This is a very complex wine. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and flavor drift away nicely. We would enjoy this gem on its own or with a filet mignon. Enjoy – Ken & Dave
Winemaker Notes: This vintage is unique because we used only French Clone varieties for the Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2015 vintage was the warmest vintage to date, with above average temperatures across the Columbia Valley. Despite the heat, the wines from this vintage ended up with great fruit characteristics while maintaining excellent structure and focus.
