Wine Review: This medium purple colored Syrah opens with a blackberry and moist pipe tobacco bouquet with hints of fruitcake and black cherry-cola. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is smooth, silky, and very well-balanced. The flavor profile is complex blend of blackberry, black raspberry, and black coffee blend with notes of chalky minerality. We also detected hints of black cherry, anise, oak, and nutmeg. The finish is dry and its well-managed polished dusty tannins linger and then drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Syrah with Forge & Vine’s Poutine (shredded short rib, brown gravy, & maple brook farm cheese curd) or with pork tenderloin with cherry preserves. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Black cherry, candied violets, white flowers, dried apricots & white pepper.
