Wine Review: This light pink colored Rose opens with a pleasant strawberry and mild wet stone bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused red cherry with a hint of clementine. The finish is dry and very refreshing. This Rose is a true quaffer. I would serve it slightly chilled on very hot day. With food, I would choose broiled scallops to serve it with. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our updated and expanded Rose is now simply called Esperance Rose, and we are crazy proud of this wine. It is a blend of predominantly Cinsault and Grenache, with some Mourvedre and Syrah in there as well. The grapes were all harvested separately at peak Rose maturity (early, with a lower sugar and brighter acid), in the middle of the night, and then quickly foot stomped to help start the color extraction process. The resulting wine is wonderfully light, yet complex, and full of personality. Yes, there are plenty of fruity notes, but this is definitely not a kool-aid Rose of yesteryear from California. Rather, it is very much in the moment. Dry, light, very refreshing. This should be your go to wine this summer!
