Wine Review: This midnight blue colored blend from the Sonoma Valley opens with a fragrant smoky oak, blackberry and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a pleasant black raspberry with notes of mild oak and flinty minerality. I also detected hints of black licorice and a touch of fig and spice. The finish is dry and its mild tannins linger for a while. This wine would pair well with pork medallions with roasted figs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Red Rhone-style blend, which we refer to as Turbine Red for the iconic image of our wind turbine on the label, contains 42% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre and 28% Syrah. Aromas of wild blueberries and huckleberries meld with cherry cola, violet, black pepper and crushed granite. This is a nicely layered wine with flavors of black plum, brambly blue fruits, pepper and subdued smoke.
