Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Malbec based wine from Amalaya opens with a black pepper and forest floor bouquet with hints of black plum, clay, and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and rich. The flavor profile is blackberry and oak blend with notes of stony minerality and black pepper. We also detected some hints of black plum and oolong tea. The finish is dry and its bold dusty tannins that build-up and stick around for quite some time. The Tasting Panel would suggest pairing this Malbec based blend with a grilled NY strip steak or with a grilled tri tip steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Radiant wine of deep and penetrating ruby color. Aromas exuding red fruits and berries with spicy notes, typical in the region, and soft vanilla notes given by the barrels. Intense, luxuriant, and elegant in mouth with fruity and rounded tannins and a long and delicate after-taste.
