Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored wine opens with blueberry and a Schnapps like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very well balanced, lush and flavor packed. The flavor profile is a ripe and extracted cassis and blackberry blend with notes of beautifully integrated oak and dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its very dusty tannins are quite sticky and linger for an extended period time. This wine will age well, but if you can't resist decant it and serve it with a New York strip steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2008 is deep and dark with high-toned notes of cedar, anise, black earth, and black fruit. The palate is thick with long-gripping tannins that melt into the background. This is a great example of a wine that is both full flavored and graceful. It fits the old adage about iron fist in a velvet glove.
