Wine Review: This opaque dark purple colored Cab based blend was one of the top wines in our high end blind tasting. It certainly was the best deal. It opens with a huge ripe blackberry bouquet with a hint of cedar, eucalyptus, and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very well balanced, and so smooth. The flavor profile is a rich black cherry and black currant blend. There also was some mild integrated oak and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are slightly prolonged. The panel suggested that you would pair this wine with a NY Strip steak in the near term. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2007 Altvs Cabernet delivers balance, finesse and intense fruit concentration. The nose is lush and generous with huckleberry, blueberry, creme de cassis, crushed rocks, and cinnamon. The palate is a seamless fabric of acidity, wood, tannin, and alcohol. The finish is full, long, velvety and elegant. While the unusual opulence and structure of this wine allow it to be consumed in its youth, it will continue to evolve and improve over the next decade.
