Wine Review: This very dark ruby wine opens with a very shy mild cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very nicely balanced, and elegant. It was also noted by our group how impressed we were with its very silky mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a delicious cherry vanilla with hints of spice and pepper on the back palate. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins drift along nicely. This wine is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2005 Altamura Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has quickly become one of my favorite wines from our Estate Vineyards. The wine is extremely concentrated, rich and polished with a complex core of black fruit. The deep hues of black cherry are a precursor to the flavors of black currant, coffee, licorice, cocoa and cedar. The soft and well integrated tannins carry and hold these textures and flavors into a long and lingering finish.
