Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored red blend from Alta Vista opens with a very fragrant dark chocolate and balsamic bouquet with hints of black cherry, violet, and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and savory. The flavor profile is oak influenced blackberry and loam blend with notes of black cherry and black licorice. I also detected hints of spiced black plum and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins linger nicely. I would pair this rustic red blend with grilled lamb kabobs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Complex on the nose due to the three-varietal blend, it exudes notes of violet, pepper, cinnamon, and licorice. In the mouth, it is a balanced combination of Malbec's silkiness, Cabernet Sauvignon's power and structure, and Petit Verdot's intensity.
