Wine Review: This very light red colored Nerello Mascalese from Sicily opens with a Jolly Rancher cherry bouquet with hints of old wood. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty mild cherry and oak blend with notes of mild red plum, crushed stone and hints of black tea. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger and last for a while. This wine would pair well with pan-seared veal medallions with a mushroom sauce. Enjoy – Ken
