Wine Review: This very dark magenta colored Merlot based wine opens with a mulberry and cocoa bouquet with a hint of wintergreen and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and very bright. The flavor profile is a mulberry, green tea, and red plum blend with notes of stony minerality, red licorice and oak. We also detected some hints of clove spice and red cherry mixed in. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins build-up and linger and last for quite some time. The Tasting Panel would pair this Merlot based blend with a Brazilian steak or a rack of lamb. Nose: A complex aromatic blend of elegant black and red fruit, dried herbs and dusty earth are accented by notes of gamey meat and pipe tobacco.
