Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark red colored Merlot based wine opens with a cinnamon, cedar, and chocolate covered cherry bouquet with hints of stone dust, red plum, and sage. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, fresh, and structured. The flavor profile is a crushed stone and black currant blend with notes of black tea and cedar plank. We also picked up some hints of mint, red licorice, and mushrooms. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins build-up and stick around quite a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this red blend with duck confit or with a New York strip steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: On The Nose: Red plums, boysenberries, cranberries, rhubarb, potpourri, potting soil, pipe tobacco, and graphite.
On The Palate: Black and red cherries, new leather, charred herbs, cappuccino, and dusty gravel.
